SOLVED: Text: Sum of Geometric RVsThe geometric distribution is the simplest of the "waiting time distributions" and is a special case of the negative binomial distribution. The negative binomial distribution counts the number of Bernoulli trials required to get a fixed number of successes. Then the geometric distribution deals with the trial X at which the first success occurs, so we are "waiting for success". If the first success happens at trial n, then there must be n-1 trials where we fail.
