At the Dead Rabbit in NYC I met this woman whose pain was visible just looking in her eyes. The deep grief of losing a child. We had a long conversation where she let us in. I felt compelled to tell her she deserved happiness. I don't know the details of her life but I still wanted to say it. Permission is a powerful internal dialogue. For ourselves.
