In FUE, the extraction of the intact follicular unit is dependent on the principle that the area of attachment of arrector muscle to the follicular unit is the tightest zone. Once this is separated from the surrounding dermis, the inferior segment can be extracted easily. Moreover, the follicular unit is the narrowest at the surface, the use of micro punches (less than 1mm) result in the minimally visible scar which is too small to be recognized. | Dr Naveed A Khan Plastic Surgeon
