Teaching incorrect sounds can cause blending difficulties and lead to reading struggles. I've worked with many children that could not read at all because they were taught every single sound with an ending "uh"! Ugh.... It happens at home, at school, on kids learning videos. I taught my 4 kids to read at age 3. They learned all the proper phonics sounds, but when they started pre-school/kindergarten, they came home and started adding the ending "uh" (!!) sound.
