My first practice parts on our Milltronics cnc mill. I’m making some brass soft jaws for my Wilton vise. I’ll break these down into a few short segments covering both first and second ops. A long backlogged shop project turned into a good learning and training exercise for me. Making my first chips on the Milltronics USA, Inc. TRM 3016 mill! Started off using the Renishaw tool setter to get some tools setup in the carousel. Learning some of the basic and common milling ops like facing, side milling and pocketing. Later I went on to drilling, chamfering and tapping. I still need to stock up on a variety of end mills and cutters for different materials. I was using a new Walter 1/2” carbide mill for steel but still worked great for some learning. Great day on the cnc mi
